Terms of Service
Effective date: May 15, 2026
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of Scoreboard (the "Service"), a live streaming sport scoring application. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Scoreboard provides tools to score sporting events in real time, broadcast live video of those events, and share game data with viewers, teams, leagues, and organizations. Features may be added, changed, or removed at our discretion.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your province or country, whichever is higher) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian, coach, or league administrator.
You are responsible for the activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Your content
"Your Content" means anything you submit to the Service, including video streams, scores, statistics, rosters, team and player names, photos, and commentary. You retain ownership of Your Content.
You grant Scoreboard a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, distribute, and create derived formats of Your Content for the limited purpose of operating, securing, and promoting the Service. You can end this license at any time by removing Your Content, except where it has already been re-shared by others or where we are required to retain it by law.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to submit Your Content, including the rights to broadcast any sporting event or likeness you stream through the Service. You are solely responsible for obtaining any consents required from athletes, minors' guardians, venue operators, and rights holders.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law, regulation, or third-party right;
- stream events you are not authorized to broadcast, or infringe any league, team, or athlete's intellectual property or publicity rights;
- harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate any person, including officials, athletes, or other users;
- upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, or interfere with its operation;
- scrape, resell, or otherwise commercially exploit scores, streams, or other data from the Service without our written permission;
- use the Service to publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, and refuse service at our discretion to enforce these Terms or protect the Service and its users.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, trademarks, and original content, is owned by Scoreboard and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you.
6. Third-party services
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services (for example streaming infrastructure, payment processors, or analytics providers). We are not responsible for those services and your use of them is governed by their own terms.
7. Paid features
Some features may be offered on a paid or subscription basis. Pricing, billing cycles, and refund eligibility will be presented at the point of purchase. Taxes are added where applicable under Canadian law. You are responsible for keeping your payment information accurate.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scoreboard disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores, statistics, or streams will be accurate or complete.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scoreboard and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scoreboard and its contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or to protect the Service or its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will provide reasonable notice, such as by posting a notice in the Service or emailing the address on file. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and, where applicable, the laws of the province in which you reside, without regard to conflict of laws principles. You and Scoreboard agree to bring any dispute exclusively before the courts of Canada, subject to any non-waivable rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
